Publisher Champ vs Book Report vs ScribeCount vs AuthorLens
Publisher Champ, Book Report and ScribeCount track sales across many stores; AuthorLens tracks only Amazon but goes deep into Amazon ads. Below: prices, what each one sees, and which to pick depending on where you sell.
Short answer
Publisher Champ, Book Report and ScribeCount track sales across many stores. AuthorLens tracks only Amazon — but goes deep into Amazon ads and tells you what to change. If you sell on Kobo, Apple Books or your own store, one of the first three gives you the totals. If most of your money comes from Amazon and you run ads, AuthorLens shows profit per book and fixes for your campaigns.
We use AuthorLens daily and have a business relationship with it. Prices and features of the other three are from their own websites, as of September 25, 2026.

Publisher Champ
Publisher Champ is the most complete multi-store tracker of the three: 25+ integrations, ad monitoring for Amazon and Facebook, BookBub ads and Amazon Attribution on the Plus plan, and a Profit & Loss table added in March 2026. Luna AI answers questions about your data; the Ultra plan connects it to ChatGPT and other AI assistants. Mobile apps are included.
Choose it if you publish wide and want one place for every store. What it won't do: tell you which keyword to pause or which bid to lower, or track your keyword positions.
Book Report
Book Report is free while you earn under $1,000 a month, with every feature included — the cheapest way to start. Paid tiers go from $19 to $249 a month by earnings. Its Amazon Ads integration covers Sponsored Products only, for the last 90 days.
Choose it if you're starting out and want free sales tracking. What it won't do: show Sponsored Brands or video ads, keep ad history beyond 90 days, or suggest changes.
ScribeCount
ScribeCount covers 40+ platforms and prices by income: $5.99 a month under $500, up to $34.99 above $2,500. It compares ad spend with royalties per campaign for Amazon and Facebook ads and has a read-through calculator for series.
Choose it if you write series across many stores and care about read-through. What it won't do: recommend fixes or track keyword rankings.
AuthorLens
AuthorLens sees only Amazon, but it is the only one of the four that turns the numbers into actions:
- net profit per book and marketplace, including video and brand ads assigned to the books they sold — the ads Amazon itself doesn't tie to a book;
- organic vs ad sales, so you can see whether ads lift a book or just buy orders;
- a Change column: right in the table, every book shows whether it grew or dropped against the previous period;
- Ad Coach: fixes with the exact bid to set and the estimated dollars per month;
- keyword rankings every day for up to 500 keywords;
- a Telegram report every morning, plus alerts the moment something happens: ad spend for the day passed your limit — $100, $200, $500 or any amount you choose — or Amazon blocked a book or rejected an ad.

Choose it if most of your income is Amazon and you run ads. What it won't do: count sales on Kobo, Apple Books or your own store.
If your tracker shut down: BookTrakr, BookEdge, ScribeCount
Some author sales trackers have closed or stopped developing, and their users are looking for a replacement. Checked September 25–26, 2026.
BookTrakr is down
The BookTrakr site hasn't worked for a long time. If you tracked many stores in it, the closest replacements are Publisher Champ or ScribeCount. If most of your money comes from Amazon, AuthorLens.
BookEdge closed to new users
BookEdge ($18 a month) isn't accepting new users. Publisher Champ covers similar ground; for Amazon with ads, AuthorLens.
ScribeCount: complaints about the numbers
ScribeCount still runs, but in May 2026 Kindlepreneur stopped recommending it, and reviews say its figures drift from the reports. In AuthorLens every figure comes from Amazon's own reports, and support on Telegram will show where any number came from.
You can't import your history from an old tracker into AuthorLens, and you don't need to: it pulls the last three months from Amazon in minutes and 12 months a little later.
Publisher Champ and Book Report alternatives
Looking for a Publisher Champ alternative? If you sell on many stores, ScribeCount (from $5.99) or Book Report (free under $1,000 a month) cover the same ground for less. If most of your money comes from Amazon and you run ads, AuthorLens goes deeper on Amazon: profit per book after every ad type, Ad Coach fixes with dollar amounts, daily keyword rankings.
Looking for a Book Report alternative? Book Report sees only Sponsored Products and only the last 90 days of ads. Publisher Champ connects Amazon Ads in full, plus Facebook, and BookBub on its Plus plan. AuthorLens adds Sponsored Brands and video ads assigned to the books they sold.
Which one to pick
Just starting, earning under $1,000 a month: Book Report's free tier. Check a single book's economics in our free royalty calculator. To be fair: if you spend less than $200 a month on ads, you don't need a paid tool yet — start with the free calculator.
Publishing wide, several stores: Publisher Champ or ScribeCount for the totals.
Most money from Amazon, running ads: AuthorLens — it's the one that shows what to change, not only what happened.
Wide and running Amazon ads: a multi-store tracker for the totals plus AuthorLens for the Amazon ads. The two don't overlap much, and for now AuthorLens only reads your data.
